do any of you guys know where i can find a schematic for this radio?
a friend just purchased one and it sounds horribly muffled on fm,
i listened to ssb and the tx response sounds typical of most exports but oh boy the fm really sucks,
he wants me to try and fix the problem or help him fix it himself so i need to look at the mic amp or most likely between the mic amp and varactor in the vco to see if they used any stupid value caps, it sounds like they put a 10,000uf to ground in there :twisted: ,
i cannot believe a new radio so bad,
as it is its useless on fm which is his main mode of use,

call or look on the ranger site.

they are tuned for 10 meter what you expect. you have to retune.

thanks bootymonster, i never thought to look on cbtricks,

fl our fm band is near as damit 10mtrs ch is 27.99125mhz and i never heared any other 10mtr radio sound so bad on fm, you would have to hear it to understand how badly muffled it is, unhook your bass mids and tweeters in the car and you will get an idea, subwoofer fm audio

find the vr for fm devation sounds like its set too high.if ya dont have the right equiment to check this do a over the air check.

i do have a deviation meter but its not a deviation problem its a frequency responce problem, very wooley muffled audio, the problem is not there on on ssb.

hmm,well being a new radio hard to say id try cbtricks.com
they probaly dont have anything yet being a new radio
but keep checking.you may be able to get them if ya call
ranger and ask for it i dont know.if not being new should have warranty id send it back in explaining problem
