I guess this is what ranger is doing with left over Galaxy parts. One homely looking radio imo and seems the main focus is raw power over any real functions.

A radio shrunk down to the width of the overhead opening in modern OTR tractors. Where the confined space will allow it to cook itself well done if you key the mike longer than a few seconds at a time.

Drivers don't care about sideband.

Even the details were skimped, that lettering on the faceplate has got to be the most effortless attempt.

It's now 2023 though, should we really be surprising by what we see anymore.

Some of the new 3900_2023 models have bricked on new users, I would say away from them untill this gets sorted out.
When Ranger first came out with the 2950 and 2950 dx models they were good radios for that time period, now they are slapping big pa's on junk radios.
Maybe Jim Peng is tired of building radios and would rather invest in real estate.....

I'm not a fan of the mosfet amps they are slapping on their radios. I think the 2x2290 amps were the perfect size for adding to a mobile radio. Anything more is richard swinging, just get an external amp. It's better for the radio.
