Have about a 1 year old Galaxy 99V2 that has developed a problem on AM. Sideband is 100% and works as should. These are awesome radios, has same new style board as used in the 98VHP etc ….
- On AM/FM, a fault has developed in the Variable Power Circuit. Total loss of control. Radio when keyed now at FULL output which is 35~40 watts. Again, sideband is unaffected and works 100% as should. Radio is super clean, couple of tiny marks in chrome front bezel. Looks 9.5 of 10. Have Box as shown, is rough. Box is 7 of 10. Also have Inner factory brown box.
- Nothing else included. No manual, mic, power cord, mounting bracket, knobs - nothing. You get radio with inner & outer factory box. - These rigs sell new for $300

You can:
-Use as~199v2.jpg is as a 100% Sideband rig
-If you have a great relationship with Galaxy, maybe you can get them to take it in and fix under a warranty situation seeing as it is relatively new (I'm not the original owner and have no original purchase receipt.)
-If you're a Super Tech, maybe you can fix
-Use as awesome parts rig but it would be a shame to strip this radio

Will trade for an older Medium Power Export like a Galaxy 77,88,99V etc… - Must have on-board factory echo so no RCI 2950's etc …. Or will sell for $100 plus actual ship to your location.

Have discovered the Variable Power pot itself is okay. It controls the SSB power up & down as should. So the problem is elsewhere in the circuit.
