K-Line K100, K100B Radio Amplifier Kit

i happened on this looking around cbtricks . it looks much more robust than the other stinger boards ive seen and uses a transistor that will do 90 clean watts on 11 meters . i like the external heatsink and it would complement most any cb radio .

has anyone tried one or know anything about its performance ? who makes it or where to get it ? price ?

I would be concerned with the RF radiating off that board into the CB causing foul signal.
I dont think the DC cord on most barefoot CB can handle the extra current.

Dudmuck seems to have his stuff wired tight as far as radio goes.

I'd take his word.

External amps are the ticket when possible.

Most HF rigs have very big heat sinks for the PA's and are shielded, in my experience.

Thats the best looking Stinger board i ever saw, most were something to stay away from. Might be worth a try.

nice looking doesn't cut it when you're talking about rf. the big problem resulting from an amplifier like the one pictured is that there is no shielding. 16AWG is rated for 22 amps of current.

here's the answer. it can be fitted to just about any radio, it's class AB Linear, it's heat sinked, completely rf shielded and isolated from the interior of the transceiver. sufficient low-pass filtering of the output signal is also provided in the design. this is "tight".

Yes indeed, custom cb radio is doing some testing with that right now. Looking pretty good so far.

"A dealer on another forum quoted a price of $42.95 for the RFX75."

that's the cash n' carry price less shipping. we are only selling them installed. also we have implemented a slight re-design of the bias which allows the RFX75 to safely produce 25W of carrier in am/fm modes, 10W more than the 15W recommended carrier limit. typical installations produce 25W carrier and just at or under 100WPEP, even in the Cobra 29 and similiar chassis'.

my ? is does any 1 know what the real fet # is, and not the ekl in house part# . ive been doing comparison on many fets and there are soo many to look through and always something that dont fit the spec for the 13.8 volt thing or too high input cap or to high rds just always something that just dont fit.
