NORTHSTAR RADIOS ?

No "Northstar" , just read that they are Galaxy clones and said to be slightly better then the Galaxy line as far as sideband drift goes. I have heard of Northpoint as well , but this was a first for me as far as Northstar goes. First time I ever saw a Northpoint was at the end of the movie Joyride when Rusty Nail keyed up again while the kids were sitting at the back end of the ambulance and they zoomed up on the radio.

If I remember right they are a clone of Galaxy radio's that was made in China from scratch. They are worse then average reliability wise.

i had the northstar9500 base they made them around
mid-late 1990s....if i remember right.radio looked like
a galaxy saturan it was a little stable on ssb but not
as good as a magnum or ranger thier silmply the best

Wow! Thats cool.
Never even knew they existed.

But being a Galaxy (Ranger) clone means it will probably have the same
ssb drifting problems

These were not manufactured by Galaxy. There were several models of these over the years they started back in 1996 or so till about 2001 give or take.
