a local here has got ahold of a cb that no one around here can find anything about..its called a ''lake''..the only thing wrote on the radio is some serial numbers and a made in japan on the mic..its a straight am radio with 40 channels..anyone know any info on this radio....thanks

Had one long enough to sell it, its been a number of years and the radio was not memorable at all, think it was just your basic 40 channel mobile, cybernet chassis, O2A if i recall correctly, was a transitional period radio, intended to target the budget audience. Hmmm, I do seem to remember I liked the S-meter on it, as bit over sized...
LAKE made about 8 different CB models. None from major manufacturers (uniden, cybernet,etc.) Several were AM/FM/CB in-dash units. Most were made by NDI (Korea). Not very exciting radios.

I've got a Lake CB and it is the basic thing....volume, squelch, meter. Exactly like a Granada or Outcom CB. I have seen several other radios like it but can't remember them at the moment.

Post up a pic. Some of the Lake radios are good units and are semi-valuable to some radio collectors.
