Old cars safer, think again


Wow, that was impressive. Severe impact but yet the driver compartment of the new car stays in tact. The driver of the 59 is dead for sure.
 
I agree, that would not happen if the car was complete. It is fixed. Just like they did with the chevy trucks years ago. Claimed they would blow up in an impact, but they had to put explosives on the fuel tanks and remotly detonate to make it happen?????:glare:
 
Advertising for ya! Im also thinking the Bel Air being heavier would have demolished the Malibu. Cars may be safer in the sense that they take the impact better by blowing into pieces and having air bags but I think the older cars still have the advantage. Being on the fire department I have seen allot of new vehicles that we have had to do extrication because they crumble so easy and trap the occupants.
