Where should I run the power on ssb on this rig? Some say all the way up. Just double checking..

Thanks
Bob

Booty I am talking about the rf power on the front of the radio. Sorry if I was not clear...

why not use a power meter and keep the rf power at or under 75 watts pep ?
do you have a power meter ?

power on the S-45HP

If you don't use a fan on the finals then best keep the power down to 40wPEP.
Even at those levels the RX-75 will get very hot. AM it will get hotter.
They keep the FM power down to 20w max for a very good reason!!!
Put a decent fan on the heatsink that runs continually when the radio is turned on and you can run it at 75w OK. For local contacts I just turn down the mic gain....but even if you crank up the ALC in the set you can still reduce power from the power knob on the set when you don't need to be heard everywhere.
Plenty of options with the S-45HP!

i hope someone comes along and tells you where to put the rf power on the front of the radio ..........

Thank You sir for the info now where di I get a small fan for this?

Any old used small 24v computer fan will work, you can mount em like they did on the Galaxy 93T. The reason 24v fans are cool is at 12v they run slower and are very quiet yet still move plenty of air.
