After doing some more research I read that when hanging a dipole verticaly one should configure the feed line 90 dagres right angles for 1/4 wave. I can't get this picture in my head. Can someone direct me to a site that shows this in a diagram? Or maybe exsplain this in laymans terms? Thanks once again.

Easy to understand.....just run the coax straight out from the antenna a minimum of 1/4 wavelength. Picture the letter T on it's side. The normal top of the T is the dipole and the leg is the coax cable.

THANS CAPTAIN. HOW FAR BEFORE?

Thanks captain. That was a grate way of exsplaining that to an antenna laymen. Just one more question. How far in feet should I run the feed before I can drop it horizontally to the ground?

l dipole antenna is much more appropriate gain in their angles, rather than the best vertical antenna CB.

It's more 5dBi at 40 foot with vertical polarization.

greetings.

Not exactly proper,(couldn't get the ends tight enough to not sag), but this worked for me in a pinch:

Picture that with your head cocked to the side, and you get the idea of how it should hang vertically!
Talked to Eli, NB2811 in Sacramento off of the dipole in the picture. I was in North Central Texas.
