online fraud / bad experiences

hey hey, I was just curious about your people's experiences with online fraud / bad purchases... if any of you have actually been put in that situation -- I have... I've bought a salvaged $15,000 car on ebay, only to find out it was totalled while being transported. Looking forward to your feedback!!

Sorry to see this. But the banning of people that were or future customers seems to be the norm. Their is some honest online dealers.

As far as eBay is concerned, if you are only a buyer then fraud is a major concern however, when you are both a seller and a buyer, it somehow seems to balance itself out! 8)

Been do'in the Ebay thing for 5 years now , both my better half and I , I feel so damned lucky when it comes to the horror stories I hear , We both sell and buy and we really have not had any problems other then folks dragging there feet when it comes to shipping every now and then ,we avoid the check is in the mail bull$hit buy only accepting Paypal as payment. I personally think Ebay is a great situation. Some of my older memories tend to be there for the right prices. As far as IM concerned EBAY ROCKS !!! We have learned over the years to cover our asses to the best of our abilities when buying and selling. checking Feedback and asking questions when need be , We certainly know what those two little powerful words mean in anybodies ad "AS IS" It isn't always perfect for sure and some things can surely be questionable after the fact , but after almost 800 hundred buys and sells between the two of us ,we only have 1 Neg and that was pretty much my fault .....I was a newbie at the time and I didn't quite understand how it all worked in the beginning, I unfortunately learned the hard way. )-: I got jerked around for a month after I paid for the item and never got it, but my money was never claimed by the seller ? Go figure ? So I left them a Neg and not thinking that they could do the same thing to me DUH !! So that was basically it for us in the beginning of our Ebay journey...other then that we have just learned to play the Ebay game and keep a good record for ourselves. OH before I forget .........KNOCK ON WOOD !!! :roll:

seems to me ebay is a buyers market..most people hold off till the very end so as not to drive the price up..hard to get a good price for your stuff..people know if they dont get it the first time there will be a million more of the same item coming down the line so why bid up..

Well, I have had good luck on Ebay for years, but my luck has run out. I have had the same account for five years with 190 feed backs and have got four negitive feed backs on my last five sales ! Two were from dead beat bidders, one from a guy that said the item was not what he thought ? and another gave me a negitive THEN contacted me saying he has not received the radio, then the next day he found it by his front porch ! Ebay's fee's are going up etc, etc....I think I will hang up my ebay hat.

Well Park,just like everything else , the nickles and dimes are on the rise. Could be worse I guess ? Uncle Sam has been knocking at Ebays doors for years , emagine that . If he should have anything to do with it in the future , Id' bet to say it would surely change things for "them" in a big way. Not that there already multi-millionairs from the likes of you and me.
