Made contact with Kare 20SD011 (Norway) this afternoon around 1:30pm, had beam pointing up into Alberta, Canada.
QSO was short, only about 2 min. but at least there is some hope it might start to get better for us on the West side here.

Couple nights ago, I heard 4 stations from Thailand, but they couldn't here a word from me...oh well. Also heard one station today from the Philippines.

With the sunspot number hovering around 30 I'm surprised that there is anything going on. I got into Cuba yesterday though. I've talked to Kaare a few times already and have deduced that the 1:30PST/2:30MST time slot is the usual opening to him.

Did hear Spanish N.Africa on .570USB this morning. Wasn't even strong enough to move the S-meter. Which is surprising for the West Coast - when one considers the solar conditions ATM. I'll be glad to take what I can get . . .

Klondike Mike,
I did talk with Francisco there in Cuba also - 88ET107, he had a good signal here of S8.

I do here you Robin a lot down here, but it's on "backscatter" and I just can't get back to you. I hear you when I have the beam pointing into Alaska - that's usually in the afternoons.

You are correct on the "time slot" for over the pole, that's when I talked to Kare yesterday.

Just had another qso with another station in Norway again today - 20SD045 Kent.

Nice qso for about 6 min with a S7.

It's like pulling hen's teeth lately getting overseas skip, but I keep trying and pull off some successes.

I talk to Pete in Joplin from my QTH abut 60 miles south of him when he's in off the road. We haven't met face-to-face, yet.

Well Homer when you hear him again, call him Trapper John (that will really get him going - it's his old am handle).

Parker (WR 949) from California and I, use to talk to Pete on 38 lsb a lot in the last 2 yrs, he's really quit a talker when you get him going.
