In rememberance of the brave actions of US Naval units in the valiant defense of Pearl Harbor and Honolulu, HI on DEC 7, 1941, the Amateur Radio Stations on USS Hornet, USS Pampanito, and USS Blueback in company with the USS Missouri and such other Museum Ships as are able intend to conduct a Special Event on Wednesday, DEC 7, 2011 by operating on HF frequencies using Voice, Morse, and Data transmissions.

Each ship will determine its hours of operation. The USS Hornet will operate from 1700 UTC to 0030 UTC (0900 - 1630 Pacific).

Contacts will be sought with Amateur Radio shore stations on the frequencies of:

SSB - 7.260MHz, 14.260MHz, 21.360MHz, 24.960MHz, and 28.560MHz (All frequencies will be adjusted to avoid QRM.)

CW - KH6BB, the Battleship Missouri BB63 in Pearl Harbor at 1200 Pacific, will be calling on 28.040 for 10 minutes, then 24.895 for 10 minutes, then 21.040 for 10 minutes

PSK-31 - Look for NB6GC on USS Hornet at thirty minutes after each hour for 15 minutes on the normal PSK frequencies.

USS Hornet, NB6GC, invites other participating ships to attempt to network on 14.305 MHz USB between 2045 UTC and 2115 UTC.
