Picked up this super clean HR2510 in a trade, guy claimed it was working, and that it had just came back from the shop for a quick tune up and to be checked out before selling
Well I hooked it up at home and while it does light up and does makes static, but nothing on the display. I popped the cover and saw that found that y301 on the CPU board was missing and that the CPU was a UC-1201. After replacing that, (y301, no difference) I then tried the entire CPU board out of a parts rig (this was a uc-1251, also out of an HR2510), While I could now select frequencies/channels, I hear people talking on 27.385, I still could not tranmit.
The final was an MRF497 (not the standard MRF477 or MRF455)
The radio does not seem to have had ANY mods, not even the external speaker mod of the CB mod..., it is a true virgin, even if it is dead, hahaha
Also included an original mic and and factory service manual
That is as far as I got so far
