Picking up a D&A Phantom 10 tube amp. Can it do 160 or 80 meter? I know it does 40, 20, 15, 10. But I would like to know what it would take to modify the amp to include 160, 80 and 75 meters?

Are you serious?

Pass up on that and look at an SB-200 or something along that line of amplifiers.

The D&A in it's day was a work horse and many still are. It is a CB amplifier and will in no way meet FCC standards, not even close.

Do yourself and other licensed operators a favor and keep that garbage off of the ham bands.

Wavrider is 100% correct. Get a good HF amplifier, the D&A amps are CB stuff. And from a practicality standpoint, sweep tubes really lose their efficiency below 40 meters, they simply don't operate very well at those frequencies.

Get a Heathkit, Ameritron, or Yaesu amp, and you'll be much better off. :)

well i am getting it either way. It's a trade. Trading an old B.C. Rich Warlock, NJ Series, with the speedloader system for it. I don't play guitar, but I figure if nothing else I can sell the amp off and use the profits to fund a more useful amp

Nope not serious at all... just wanted to hear you ask that question. But yes I was considering it. However I see it might not be the way to go. But honestly there was not a lot of talk about it. So I figured I could ask, then I would know. That's what forums are for after all.

If the tubes are good in that old D&A they are almost worth their weight in precious metals.

Sell the tubes and you will have the $$$ for an SB-200 10-80 HF amplifier.
those old amps are work horses and many still on the air today.

Was the B.C. Rich Warlock a regular electric guitar or a bass? I play both! The Warlock series is sweet looking!

An old guitar. It needs a little TLC, the plate covering the springs is missing (on the back) simple to replace. One locking screw is missing ($6 for 6 straight from Floyd Rose, and it needs strings, It uses 25.5" Floyd Rose Speedloader strings, you get those from Floyd Rose for only $12.99. It has a few chip in the pait as is the norm with a Warlock that gets any kind of use.

The amp is fully functional and the tubes tested at 90% or better

Yes, yes, and yes.
You will make more $$ coin in parts on E-bay.
Some of the Smaller amps can be re-worked for use on 6-10-12-15-17, or even 20 meters, but for real, the Band switches on that Amp are Eye candy to get past the old rules.
You would be surprised how many the band switch is not even functional on ......
