What is your secret to soldering one on to coax?

My secret? Use the high quality silver plated PL-259's (not the nickel plated ones). They're much easier to solder on. Also use an iron that gets hot enough.

Agreed on the good quality connectors.I use only the silver or gold plated type and use a lot of heat for a short time.I use an old Weller D-550 soldering gun.Old "Betsey" has two heat settings,240 and 325 watts. It will do up those PL-259's in a couple seconds. It's not the amount of heat you use that melts the coax,it's how long you apply it.
