Yes it is an info. post. It definitely is one of the few communication rags left.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought at one time the magazine actually had a monthly CB column????

For a communications magazine I really don't understand why there is so very little coverage on the CB radio hobby.

probably because nothing in the cb world has changed in 20 years+

no new news, no new articles

I think a creative writer would be able to find CB radio hobby topics to write about. How about some articles and reviews on the Freeband, DX'ing, CB Radio Equipment (new & old), Radio Forums, Export Radios, Restoration Projects, DX Clubs, Repair Shops, etc.

And how about a trip down memory lane with some articles and history on the "vintage" CB manufacturers of the past such as Browning, Tram, Lafayette, EF Johnson, Heathkit, Turner, Stoner, SBE, etc.

i think your right a creative writer could do a piece on the new finals, mosfets, since most of the others are no longer in production. or how to substitute for what is available. but that would be going back to their roots and getting people to actually think again versus plug and play. but i still get it every month, because of the loose connection and scanner dweeb.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Popular Communications to Merge With CQ

CQ Plus digital supplement to incorporate articles from Pop'Comm, WorldRadio Online and CQ VHF

Popular Communications is being merged into an expanded digital edition of CQ magazine. Effective with the February 2014 issue, material from Pop'Comm, as well as CQ VHF and WorldRadio Online, will be published in a supplement to the digital edition of CQ magazine and titled CQ Plus. Pop'Comm Editor Richard Fisher, KI6SN, will be editor of the new monthly supplement.

We apologize to our readers for our recent production and delivery delays, and for what some have perceived as poor communications. Plans for these changes developed quickly and there were many changes as we worked through them. We felt it would be better to wait until everything was finalized rather than announcing changes in bits and pieces that might end up being incorrect a few days later. Please note that the November and December issues of Pop'Comm are available for free download on our website at <www.popular-communications.com>.

All current Pop'Comm subscriptions will be transferred to CQ as follows:
- Print subscribers will receive both the print and digital editions of CQ (including CQ Plus) for the duration of their current subscription terms, beginning with the January 2014 issue. Individuals with subscriptions to both titles will have their CQ expiration dates extended accordingly.
- Digital subscribers will receive the digital edition of CQ (including CQ Plus) for the duration of their current subscription terms, beginning with the January 2014 issue. Individuals with subscriptions to both titles will have their CQ expiration dates extended accordingly.
- The November and December 2013 issues of Pop'Comm have been posted on the Pop'Comm website in full, in PDF format, with open access.

Questions may be e-mailed to <circulation@cq-amateur-radio.com> or you may call our toll-free customer service line at (800) 853-9797.

Pop Comms has been sliding down hill since Tomcat left.

I agree!

After reading that "Popular Communications is to merge with CQ" and that Popular Communications is being merged into a digital edition, I immediately called and asked for a refund on my subscription.

WorldRadio was in MO the the Best Amateur publication....
When CQ sucked them up and done away with the printed edition....
I might have read one since then...
Same way with QRP Homebrew...Great publication!....went "digi" and I cancelled asap!
Old school I guess:bdh:...I'll never enjoy a "Digi" edition of anything...

NO Tablet/Kindle/IPAD/Smartphone...none of it, I see ever in my future...
This forum is as close to that as I'll ever get...
I am surprised most radio Mfg. are still printing owners manuals though.
When that stops so will my purchases...
All the Best

I guess I'm old school also. I still enjoy reading physical print media: newspapers, magazines, books, etc. I tried to read the digital edition of my local newspaper and a few books over the years and it's just not for me.

Sorry Pop Comm but you just lost a long time subscriber.
