This will dramatically improve the carrier swing and modulation of this great micro CB.

You must be VERY careful if you do this modification as you are going to be soldering a through hole component from the center leg of the AM regulator to the anode of the SMD diode, as pictured.

You MUST use a fine tipped soldering iron for this mod.
As with all modifications, this is for experimental purposes.

Solder the cathode end of a 1n914 diode to the center leg of the AM regulator and the anode of the 1n914 to the anode side of the SMT diode.

Be very mindful of the time you have your soldering iron on the SMT diode or you will destroy it.

To access the service menu, you must key the mic and hold in the AM/FM button and EMR buttons while turning the radio on. PL adjusts the dead key. Leave FM alone!
AL adjusts the modulation level. The higher the number, the lower the modulation. 50 is the highest setting. Do yourself a favor and don't mess with anything else in the service menu.

Enjoy this little rascal!

Your mods are always very appreciated sir. You don't have to share but you do and that's great.

Just curious but what did the before and after readings look like in comparison?
