Was wondering if anyone knows of a modification to a stock McKinley mic. to improve it's performance. I've had this radio for a couple months and have made no DX contacts with it yet and yes my SWR is fantastic and I'm driving a KL 203P and have tried different things to make a contact to no avail. Looking at the port holes into the mic. they look deficient and wonder if anybody ever opened them up for clarity purpose. I've also noticed when I send a tone to my radio mic from my Dosy TRC 3001-S meter to read the frequency read out I have to search for the sweet spot on the mic to get the correct read out on 38 LSB. Before I start taking the mic apart to check it out I figure I better ask the members in here first. I like the channel up & down buttons on the mic so I really don't want to replace the mic if I don't have to. HELP any suggestions ! Thanks
