Sounds like a cold solder joint. Here try this very carefully take a pencil eraser and gently press on circuit board while the radio is on. see if you can locate the problem. Hit the area with a 25-45 soldering iron one pad at a time. I bet it will fix your problem. Also look very closely for broken traces.

The radio was made Taiwan and has a uniden board in it so i guess its at least 20 years old.Sometimes when im talking people say i sound fuzzy and the output of the radio will go down from 25 watts to around 7.Also the meter in the radio will show that it is receiving a signal but i cant here anything.The strange part is that if i give it a little tap it starts working again.I picked it up from rays cb in elkin this past weekend and he said he fixed it but it worked for about 10 minutes then started the same stuff again.Anyone have a clue what could be wrong with it?
