Anyone have any idea where I might get a rhons 30 push up mast without insane truck shipping? Trying to avoid 200 mile round trip to Dallas etc

IRS travel deduction was around 50-CPM last I looked. That’s pretty well a minimal owner/operational cost at 5-years/60k miles.

Shipping is at or under $100? A bargain once your road expenses are factored.

Combining that trip with other “shipping savings” is the only way it works to advantage to make a road trip.

Besides the pleasure, that is.

FWIW, hit the edge of the metro area at just before 0900 (75-miles from downtown) and the travel friction is lowest with departing city center no later than 1400.

Steady-state cruise-control at 64-mph the other part of it. Plan any stops in advance. Never mix with the packs of cars (especially in left lane), and slow 5-7/mph to get the big trucks around fastest.

Ran my 1T in a 350-mile round trip to Houston a few years back. Mechanics appointment early on in outskirts, then into the maelstrom to have a second installation done. Tight planning in all ways. Still averaged above 22-MPG the whole way.

Just barely met the shipping cost of both items. Installation was almost free.

Did I use radio? Oh, yeah, the UNIDEN PC-76 was velcro-strapped to console and a Firestik out on the hood. Performance basically sucked, but route familiar due to big truck work.

HRO and Larry’s CB aren’t far apart relative to coming in from the sticks. If that ain’t incentive, what would be?

I meant as a customer ordering a product that costs 1/3 of the total cost when factoring the shipping cost is too steep for me. Luckily found an outfit that will UPS ship for 50.
Don't like road trips anymore even if I do still have my CDL lol.

yes that's what I used for the Imax 2000 but want a real collapsible mast for the beam for service

I can see why you would think that.
But laying that Imax over and down and missing the power lines near my home is relatively easy.
Doing the same with an unwieldy beam and not damaging it or the chinesium rotor I ordered be it with lateral load or damaging the beam itself going to ground or killing myself on the power lines in the process of lowering not being terribly attractive, I would be better served, I think, by a vertical raise and lower solution vs a lateral.

There's a guy in Centerville, North of Houston who sells new Rohn stuff, including pushup poles. Search houston.craigslist.org for rohn or antenna tower
