Pwr cable and Coax question

Hey, is it safe to have the Power cable and Antenna coax running thru the engine compartment. Guess my main concern is the heat build up. Could it melt the wires? Thanks ya'll!!

Use rubber grommets on any firewall thrus.

Just keep the cables away from the exhaust and it should be OK.

It shouldn't make any difference, but there's always that possibility. I'd worry less about 'melting' than picking up interference. Of course, wrapping them around the exhaust manifold is sort of silly, and probably not something that you were thinking about doing (I hope? :)). Taking normal precautions is a good idea, no sharp bends, wear points, etc. Painting them a very bright pink makes them sort of noticeable, not a bad thing when someone is working around them that may not have a clue about what they are. (A personal 'touch' not really required.) Normal common sense usually works, and some not so common sense can also helps at times.

I think you get the idea, common or uncommon.
