Installed it today. 102 whip on a Chevy Astro a rear drivers side with whip tip at 14.5’. Swr is 24.217 is 2.4 to 30.105 is 2.2. And of course 15m is over 8. No 15 till I put the tuner installed. 83 watts was the max output unless it’s on 15m then it was 24 watts
Radio has 1.01 firmware. Moved jumper. Reset into cb of course.
Box had plenty of wire screws and everything it should have. Wasn’t short a thing and had some wire left over. Wire is single strand instead of the two molded together. But that’s just fine.
Mic seems ok. Feels plastic of course. The channel buttons and function in the mic are not as much of a pain as I expected. Oddly enough there’s plenty of room in the mic for a speaker but they used 4 wire and there isn’t one. Project for later I suppose. The mic cord is tight and short. Needs different material for the cord.
The menu isn’t bad. I don’t know what you’d need to do that the menu does not have. Read the book.
Swr meter is on spot. Freq is on spot. Audio is adjustable through the npc function, hi-cut and bandwidth filter. Sounds nice and bright. Unfortunately the noise blanker is a little lacking.
There are zero adjustments you can get to in the radio itself unless you really get super ambitious. Leave it alone
On mine, the audio out through the mic jack isn’t working. I’ve emailed about it but I ordered straight from radioddity web site and it shipped from china. Not sure what’ll happen there.
So far I’m pleased overall.
