It probably will, bit I wouldn't trust one of them Paradynamics. Probably find a decent tuner at a fest.

I did have one of those once, used it in mobile setup, I didn't have it very long, thought it was kinda junky. It was given to me, so I thought WTH and at least gave it a try.

How about the Maco?

I prefer my tuners to have names on them like TenTec, Dentron, Palstar, E.F. Johnson,Kenwood and even sometimes MFJ but never Maco or Para-Dynamic. Actually I really prefer to build my own tuner with components that have names like E.F. Johnson, Jennings, and Gates or Harris.:thumbup1:

Only trying to find an inexpensive way to talk to a friend on cb. I did build a dipole for 11m I guess ill hang it up and make do with that he needs to go take the test dammit

It's just that Maco and PDC = CB stuff which in turn = crapola for a tuner. The inner workings would usually burn up with 100 watts applied to an antenna that truly needed a tuner. Besides they are monoband tuners anyway and not really meant for multiband use even at low power.

At the most I run 20w LSB, and I will be tuning 28.4 to 27.5 or 27.4

I have 5 or 6 big tuners and about as many of those little handhelds including one of the PDC - 5 you posted I never really messed with that PDC and dont think Ide trust running its rating of 100 wats through it due to how cheaply and chinsey its made.

I also have a Vanco 100 watt matcher its brand new an Ive yet to test it and look at the inside construction. Now I have 2 of the Maco 300 watt 10-12 meter matchers and can tell you I have honestly putabout 700 watts on sideband through it without a problem. I actually had one of them setup on a spare 10 meter setup and had a Texas Star 500 hooked up to it and ran it everyday which is why I bought my second one from Peddler 2 years ago because I knew they were trustworthy.

I tell everyone that as far as bang for buck those heavy little Maco handheld matchers cant be beat and are well worth the $30.00 and Ide recommend them allday long because of mine and others experience and proven durrability with them.

The PDC-5 has 2 Mica compression capacitors in it that cost about 3 dollars behind the knobs, it may or may not match the antenna.
The slide switches that are used are even cheaper.

They are very limited in the tuning range, and will not handle much power depending on the mismatch that you start with.
If they have a return warranty at all you could try it, but you are gonna have to eat the shipping charges to send it back if it don`t work.
I agree that you can find much better deals used, or at a ham swap-meet.
