I have one I bought new in the mid 1990s a year before they were off the shelves permanently and I was thinking about getting another one for my kids amateur setup but before I actually get into anotherone I was thinking what if these things quit working where the hell would it be serviced? or who would attempt it are parts available or is this a bad investment as far as that point goes?

I know for $160.00 there is a better one made by another company that reads everything at the same time including frequency and I may go that route seeings how it reads true PEP aswell. I was going to post an ad here to look for a radio shack model for the kids and was gonna offer a trade of numerous ideas radios / microphones maybe even something out of my astatic collection but then I was thinking about the fact that if these digital meters from radio shack stop working who the hell fixes them and it is a paper weight i purchased in trade.

Anyways what are your thoughts on these its a tochy thing seeings how they been out of production over a decade ago. Has anyone out here had faulty units like these? Or is this a bad idea?

I seen that one an inquired but I wasnt sure what there really worth. I threw a few tardes out on that one and then started wondering what there really worth and how far would I guy really want to go with it a trade or buying one. I started thinking about the fact that if they break or need work who the hell is gonna fix the thing and what is it really worth to a guy sfter thinking sbout ttsht aspect.

I bought the one I have brand new for $60.00 and once in awhile see them in my area or here people selling them for $50.00 I actually got screwed out of one last year which is a true classic tail and lesson on why we dont want a middle man when dealing on or purchasing things..

The guy told me he had it and didnt like it and never used it he just left it in the closet so I said Ide take it he said $50.00 and guaranteed it worked I had delt with this guy before and hes an older guy but a straight shooter It was dropped off at a guys house that the original had gone to visit and drop something else off about 20 minutes from my house he left it there for me to pick up there to make things easier because he lived farther away.

Heres the classic middle man part the guy that it was left buy traded it to one of his other buddies after the original owner left. I already new the same day it was there for me waiting to be picked up. I then called the other guy he left it by to tell him I was on my way to pick it up. He then told me on the phone that I didnt want it and it was broken and he sent it back with the owner.

I being confused called the owner found out after asking him why he took it back and asking what was wrong with it he told me that he never got it back and he also was puzzled and p!$$ed he then found out what really happened and called me back and told me needless to say there not dealing or talking to oneanother anymore.
