I have one I bought new in the mid 1990s a year before they were off the shelves permanently and I was thinking about getting another one for my kids amateur setup but before I actually get into anotherone I was thinking what if these things quit working where the hell would it be serviced? or who would attempt it are parts available or is this a bad investment as far as that point goes?
I know for $160.00 there is a better one made by another company that reads everything at the same time including frequency and I may go that route seeings how it reads true PEP aswell. I was going to post an ad here to look for a radio shack model for the kids and was gonna offer a trade of numerous ideas radios / microphones maybe even something out of my astatic collection but then I was thinking about the fact that if these digital meters from radio shack stop working who the hell fixes them and it is a paper weight i purchased in trade.
Anyways what are your thoughts on these its a tochy thing seeings how they been out of production over a decade ago. Has anyone out here had faulty units like these? Or is this a bad idea?
