using this as a starting point.................................
Tips and tricks on how to build your own CB Antennas.

do the radials have to be at a 45 degree angle ? what happens if theyre at 90 degrees instead ? what happens if i use 4 instead of 3 radials ?

now for that 6 foot peice of pipe made into a circle for tuning the vswr.............
could i use something tike this
coil.jpg
with 6 foot of wire instead ?
(thanks Welcome to KØBG's Web Site )

most verticle cb antennas are usually about 37 ohms, radials may or may not be used, depending on the origional design. yes the angle does affect the antenna's ohms, in fact a well known cb antenna of a few years ago.... i think it was called a starduster, had the radials at about 60 degrees to bring it close to 50 ohms. if you're going to build it , why not try both (or more) angles and expermient?

the 6 foot circular pipe is really a "tee-match" system. the loading coil will work too, you will just have to find the right spot (or overall length) to tap off at.
have fun building(y)
