Was looking through past threads, searching for a few hints on what to buy in the AM only category. I have done some research and read some reviews on line and came up with the following.
Both the Galaxy 919 & 929 have a pretty good rep as a top notch radio, while one of the bigger and quite popular Cobra 929 radios might do also. Popular until I read some older threads here, that is.
Anyway, I like having weather, which the Galaxy radios lack, and I'm curious as to the actual quality of the Blue Tooth function on the new Cobra.
So.......how about some advice from the pros, knowing I will hook it up to a Wilson 1000.
Thanks for your assistance

if you want new and am only galaxy is as good as anything else in the cb lineup . but the older cobra and unidens are better radios from what im told . i should have my new to me but old washington here next week . i do plan on comparing its am performance to my 1 1/2 yr old 78ltw and i expect the washington to be better . not a night and day difference , but better . my main thing im hoping for is better ears than the export itll replace . im sure a better/real antenna will help also and thats in the plan also :) . in a mobile i much prefer the way the galaxies are backlit (not all models) to be able to read the labels instead of just lighted up rings on the 78ltw i have .

theres some reviews here on different radios you may find helpful , including the 29 blutooth and some galaxies

to be the man , you gotta beat the man !! WHOOOOOOO !!!!!

Also depends greatly on what kind of power you want. Want some extra on-board power like 40 or 50 watts+ or do you want a straight 4 watt radio to drive an amp with.

Also do you want any extras like echo & roger beep...extra channels ? It all matters
