Radio shack swr/power meter?

It's OK for monitoring your station. I wouldn't use one to peak and tune a radio - tho. I had two of them, and gave one to a forum member. The SWR usage of the meter should be just fine.

You mean this meter? As other's have said, not a bad little meter. I have one that I lend out or use in a portable setup but It's not one I would count on as my only meter. SWR function is pretty good and the power reading is not too bad but quality of construction is a bit cheap.

I have 5 of these 3 older or mid 1990s models and 1 of the more recent models and one digital model. I have used these on the HF bands and have found they work well I like them. I have other meters but they dont all go where these can as far as different HF bands.

The one feature on the lower end model ,which looks almost the same, is that it also has a field-strength meter.
The lower end model has freq range of 3-30mhz and can handle 1000w.

An interesting point, I Buy a bit of vintage gear, when I buy a vintage meter it is almost always in need of repair, and typically pretty inaccurate.. Unless, it has the Radio Shack name on it, 9 out of 10 times, if it hasn't been beaten to death the old Rat Shack meter typically works as new and is still fairly accurate.

They aren't half bad for the investment, No they won't be replacing my Bird, nor will it change my mind about buying an LP100, but they have a legitimate place on my bench...
