Ranger 2990 - 2985 - 2995 Idea

I was looking at those as well.I had planned to buy one and install it in the input to a homebrew amp I was going to build but I have since put that project on hold.I also thought about buying one and putting it in a case to use as a mobile tuner but opted for the Yaesu FC-40 instead. I keep thinking about getting one just to play around with and to eventually use in an amp before they go and discontinue it. I may have to get one soon. The info I got from LDG customer service is that it is basically the same board as used in the 100-pro tuner but without the case.

The amp built (and also on the cover of) in the 2006 ARRL Handbook used this! The board is also visible on the cover!

The great thing about using that board in a homebrew amp is that you do not have to worry about shielding the input switching from the output switching circuit. I was going to use a long shaft with a single pole multi throw switch for the output tank coil and a similar double pole unit for the input network and it would have been harder to isolate. The board would be easy and the toroids used are in effect self shielding anyway.

very nice hamer,
just the ticket for anybody building a wideband hf amp and
thats a great price in the usa but i betya it would be twice as expensive over here :(
