I want to try one of these but want some input on some of you that have had the oppurnitiy to run each of these radios and can give a honst comparison. I do understand that both radios have had bugs or problems in the past. I am intersted on input on durrability,audio,recieve ETC. I am gonna try them both but want to know your opinions on which one to start with the better of the 2.

RCI 2970 or Cobra 200GTL

Stay away from the 200. Get a 2970 and you will never have to buy another export again! If they are taken care of ( no BS mods like swing kits and the like ) they will last for a long time. The RCI has a better sounding audio and a cleaner receive and they are also great side band radios if that's your thing. Most of the people who bought a Cobra 150/200 gtl have sold them or have complained about poor performance in one aspect or the other, you don't hear those complaints about the 2950/2970. Just do a search here and on other forums and you will see that for your self.
