Guy was talking on an RCI of some sort the other day...was claiming 750+ watts and claiming something like 125% modulation.

He was about 5 miles from me based on where I was versus where he claimed to be at the time, but not really hitting me that hard (as hard as he should have been for being that close)?? It was slightly distorted, and the funny part was he was criticizing other guys' radios that sounded as good or better!

My question is whether a "radio" is capable of that kind of wattage. Other than being just a tad distorted, the audio was very strong...if it lost the distortion, it would have been a really awesome audio.

I'm thinking it would be sort of like my Connex 4600 was...capable of bigger power for a short time, but got real hot real quick just because of the limited room for cooling and not to mention the limited size power cabling?
