Where can I find a schematic or service manual for the Realistic TRC-474?
When I turn it on I hear the speaker make that kinda pop sound you hear when powering on any unit.
I have nothing after that?
I also tried going from 1 to 40 on another radio to hear anything.
I only paid $6 for it & I want to see if I can bring it back to life.

Thanks

they have it listed here, but no idea what it includes. PA206AB board in Realistic TRC474

If the the pll is TC9106 or TC9119, some one on another site said these radios use the same one so their info might help. no idea if it's good info though.

yep, the wiring for realistic radios is not really standard but unto them selves,,,i have seen people try to put hygain mikes and cobra five pin din mikes on them and they wont work,,,, i have had several realistic mics go bad and do something like what you have trouble with,,the realistic brand mics or of poor quality at least i have thought so,,, and when possible always got a better grade mic to use on the radios

Thanks midnight, I will have to find one, and or rewire it to a 4 pin.
Is this a good option?
How hard isi t to do?

after checking around make sure the far left switch is in cb the squelch turned to the left and the rf gain is turned to right,,,,, cleaning of switches might be needed knowing the age of this radio,,,,

realistics are not good for rewireing for a 4 pin, just a few of them, just get a 5 pin din plug from the shack and there are wireing diagrams on line,,

yea the shack here close to me is still ok but i have been in a few others that are not shacks any more just phones or computers and cameras,,,,

well sad to say after all my digging and looking i have lost my list of realistic radios cross reference to uniden and midland radios,,, if i remember right the 474 is the same as one of the uniden ax series cbs,, just cant remember which one,,,

I was able to rewire my trc-465 to a 4 pin cobra. I ran wires to the new male connector I installed in the radio from the board that was originally attached to the DIN female connector. I'll see if I can find my notes.
I hate soldering those male DIN plugs.

Do you see the S-meter needle move/receiving?
If so; then it is the mic.

Did you try to take the mic plug apart to the point that you see any broke wire(s) inside yet?
Easy fix with a soldering iron . . .
