Yes they are a good mic. The problem as always is the average CB'er's tend to be a rather ignorant lot and have gotten worse with time not better. So they are always chasing the wrong things because they do not understand how anything works. So it does not matter if it is mic's or audio or modulation they tend to flock to the wrong thing over and over and over again. The fact that it is 2018 and people are still falling for super swing, NPC, noise canceling power mic's etc....tells the tale to any with eye's wide open!

Compression does not stick well in the CB world because you can not see it on a cheap watt meter. The idea is abstract to most so it goes in one ear and out the other. Just like the idea of having fairly narrow tin can audio does not compute with them when wanting to maximize intelligibility and effective talk power. Most compression systems by there nature hurt fidelity they do not have to but normally they do to keep cost down.

None of the above is bad it is all in how it is implemented. The problem is ignorant people and selfish people always do it wrong. These same people act like trash on the radio making everyone in CB look poorly. Kind of like when less than responsible people attempt to represent gun owners for instance and come off making us all look like ignorant hicks!

If you look at the slim picking on the mic market place today targeting CB directly it is a sad and pitiful marketplace.

True about the Elna lytics. I use Elna, Panasonic and Nichicon depending on what my goal is and the circuit involved. Film caps sound nice too but they can be a bit too neutral at times and can sound almost harsh if over used. I like Wima when I can get them to fit in a board. They tend to be a bit wide for capacitance like all film caps.
