I think a big problem with any power Mic is a lot of people turn them up to 11. This is where you need a receiver radio to hear what you sound like, and a scope doesn't hurt either. My plus 2 always got great reports on ssb with a Pez Jackson. The plus 3 worked great also, on the cobra 2k, until it quit. I stripped the +3, fixed the out of round Mic head and painted it up nice. Still sitting in a box to be reassembled. May just do these mods since its already apart.
