Remember the Good Ole days?

When we lived in Southern Cal there was a Ford tv commercial where a couple walked up to a Granada and started to get in. Another couple walked up and said," Hey that's our Granada." The first couple replied," Sorry, we thought this was our Mercedes"

PLEASE give me a break !! Like someone would mistake a Granada for a Mercedes?? Hahahahahaha. Never happen. This commercial became such a joke in SoCal that Ford ditched it almost immediately. I tried to find it online and it's long gone.

Only thing I could find.

50 years into the future people will still be talking about Prince singing Purple Rain in a torrential rain storm. The best half time show ever. It’s been said that two football teams came that day to play at his performance. Few will remember or care who won.

Oh Shadetree you’re just killing me....hahaha Ford Granada in my book was a turd...LOL. My Dad had one and I was always working on it....never ending issues not the least of which was rust in south Florida.

I shouldn’t laugh at you Shadetree...I had a turd Maverick Grabber with a 302, Edelbrock high rise, Hooker headers, Crane solid lift cam, 780 holly, 9 inch Dana 3.96 rear, Excel ignition, Trw pistons, shaved heads, Hurst shifter, Borgwarner 4 speed, Shafer heavy flywheel, competition clutch and competition valve job. Driving down Sunrise Blvd the car was acting up, I thought it was a stuck float. Popped the hood adjusted the carb, gas everywhere and for some reason I needed to rotate the crankshaft...screw driver across the solenoid...sparks everywhere ignited the gas on the manifold...POOF instant fire. Closed the hood, sat down on the side of the road and watched her burn. Nice mid 13.6 second quarter mile car. One of the happiest days of my life...except for losing my midland 13892 Cb and 4 pill Hooker amp...LOL. Then replaced it with a v6 Mercury Capri....another Turd.

My first car too, 1976, 250 six with 75k miles on it when my grandma gave it to me. I still have it. Built up a couple of different 351w motors, the latest has aluminum heads, holley 4 barrel, big cam. Had a Maxon cb with mag mount on the trunk. Unfortunately it has been the queen of the back yard for about 10 years now. It's still on the to do list.

OK Shade...I know the area where you live but I swear this post is straight out of the back woods of Kentucky. Please tell me you don’t have a big oak tree with a chain around it to do engine work....also please don’t tell us you have a quote “yellow suck egg hound” named Lucky. You are a funny man sir.

Parents had a blue straight 6 Granada.
Man I miss those days.
I too owned a Maverick Grabber. Quite a few mods as well. Loved that car but got divorced long ago and ex wife was trying to get it for her boyfriend.
So I sold it for 500 bucks to a friend. Her lawyer called the next day to talk about the car.
Told him I sold it. He didn't beleive me then started talking about 50% of proceeds to be dropped at his office. Best moment of whole divorce was dropping 250 bucks off at his office.
Ex wife knew that car had over 15k of work in it lol. Ah memories.

When I compare past and present music talent they must fit at least two of several categories to be outstanding. They’re plenty of those in the past, presently and no doubt into the future that are outstanding vocalists that also play an instrument and are accomplished song writers, not to mention great performers. It’s not all doom and gloom.

Put the face diaper back on and go get The Jab. Soon, you won’t remember anything pre-2021.

Got ‘em both. (y) And I have to say the chip that comes with the jab isn’t all that bad. Sometimes I get a little static in one ear, but often late at night, if I listen close, I can hear reruns of Mr. Ed and My Favorite Martian in the other. :D

As far as the forgetfulness goes, I remember everything pre-2021. It’s yesterday and where I put my keys I have trouble with. (n)
