i keep getting in my neighbors phone, its cordless at 2.4 ghz, im running either my uniden washington or pc 122xl going into a klv 203, swinging up to 150 watts on am, 185 on ssb, upon talking to my neighbor and apologizing for wiping out her phone i was left wondering how am i interfering with a 2.4 ghz phone , antenna is antron 99 at 30 feet, swr with amp on is 1.1 to 1 across all 40 channels, coax is rg 8u at 100 ft from antenna to radio room, i went outside to look around and i found the problem, the phone interface for her trailer

phoneinterface.jpg

how do i stay out of this spiderweb of phone line ???

The drop to the left is the cable, the one to the right is the phone. The phone interface box looks like it's already grounded. The yellow tag on the box is the ground tag. The other box hanging looks like a box not being used. You can take all the phone lines and go into one box. Strip back the wires. just hook up the red to one post and green to the other. If thier using cat5 it's blue with blue and white. Most likely it's not her phones. Go back home and groung the shit out of your stuff....

yo keep whats going on bro ?? my antron is on a metal push up pole, witch is grounded, add a ground rod maybe ?? pole is already in the ground about 6 inches, mounts are lagged into the metal siding on my trailer

sorry to hear this but I've been hearing this stuff for 20 years now , good your trying to work with your neighbor. Cordless phone doesn't help you much but it could be concedered distrubing the peace if let go and bad enough and they could cause unneeded trouble for you , there are many many things you can do and even then ,there are no garrenties. Antron 99 very low is not going to help anyone on the 11 meter band (higher can help but not always) , your also using run of the mill coax , first off , I would go with 9913 , or LMR , on antrons , I've seen that coax clean up the signal big time over the years on those antenna's !! Grounding helps but I've seen where to much of that can make matters worse as well , How clean is your little Iitalian amp ? If the radios are clipped , put them back together , are you using a D-104 ? turn it down ! you can also move the location of your antenna (if possible) but from reading your story , I would change the coax to 9913 , and then i would say you have a damned good chance of getting rid of the bleed , not only that , having the best of feedlines to your antenna is surely a plus in all departments anyway. It's a pain in the ass I know Nightrider , but it is always best to keep the peace with are neighbors to a degree. Good luck to you dude , IM on your side and I've been there and done that too many times to count over the years , truly the part I would like to forget about completely. Get good coax.

klv's are massed produced amps, they are gonna have harmonics, i've gotton complaints running hr2510, kenwood440, stock 29, pc 122xl ( brought from you ) uniden washington base, no clip, amc intact on everything, i run stock mics, on everything i did a little test, i went outside with my cordless phone, 900 mhz uniden, had ol lady key up 122 with the klv , count to 10, no bleedover into the phone

Go buy a ground rod
ground your mast(6 inches ain't nothing) insulate that mass from the trailer..grab better coax..and ground your rod to her phone ground rod...

I agree 6" aint good enough of a ground. You can get a 8' ground rod at lowe's or home depot for under $20.

if all you are coming over is the phone then you are very lucky.
usually there are a number of devices affected.

i would say, buy your neighbor a phone.
it will cost about the same as any upgrades you do to your station.

you might also try running a low pass filter. sometimes they help; sometimes they dont.
also, some snap on ferrite beads on those phone wires, and maybe even one at the phone's base unit.

good luck to ya,
loosecannon

Ground rod good idea but careful before you hammer that thing into the ground. Make sure thiers no water or sewer pipes...

Take a look at what type of ground the neighbor has?? What did phone company ground to?? Water or electric or rod??

Technically it's not grounded..

Is there any interference if you run legal power from a stock radio?

Only reason I'm asking is that the higher the power level the greater the chance that the RF field will be strong enough to interfere with Part 15 appliances. If the radio's been "tuned" to make it "louder", the chances likewise increase.

There might be some relief under Part 15, but not if you're running 185 watts on 11 meters.

I didn't see anyone mention a choke balun ( coiled coax at antenna feedpoint). If your coax shield is radiating (usually does with A99 and Imax2000), then you need to block it by making a choke balun out of the coax at the antenna feedpoint, or you can put a bunch of those snap-on RF chokes around the coax right below the feedpoint. Someone else on here did that, I think last year sometime, and they said it made a big difference.

I have the same problem you have, even with no amp. I haven't had a chance to go up on my roof to add the balun or chokes yet to see what difference it will make.

Your neighbor lives in a metal can, not much you can do about that or the situation you have with her phone, stop and think about it, it's a cordless phone and that means it's not connected physically to a phone line and is subject to any rf that happens to come in contact with the phone itself so it's up to you to get your system cleaned up and making sure that her trailer has a sufficient path to ground regardless if the phone interface is grounded or not.

Good luck but I don't see luck helping you any at all.

The handset may not be connected to a phone line but the base unit is and that is where 99.999% of the interferance problems occur.RFI direct to the handset is extremely rare.Try the choke on the antenna feedline to help prevent feedline radiation and also look at ferrite on the telephone line going into her house.Since the telephone line is unshielded, grounding the entrance block will have little or no effect. It is for lightning protection and has a spark gap built into it to protect the line and equipment from high voltage but not RFI.

Oh yeah, good luck on any protection under Part15.You can't run an illegal station and claim exemption from responsibility.
