HI Everyone :
I have a Galaxy959 and a RM200P on top of it. When I check my SWR with amp off it shows 1:3 on Ch 19, but when I trun on the amp the SWR needle goes off the scale on the high/bad side. What could cause this to happen. The test is with an inline meter. The power of the amp is only seventy three watts
I was looking for closer to one hundred. I would like some help with this.
Thanks

Sounds like you have problem with bad grounding and RF current/flow back into your meters. You might not discover theese problems at low wattage but when you use high power a lot of strange problem occur. Start with checking all your plugs especially the shield of the coax, if possible solder the shield to the plugs and groundig the earth side of the antenna well.

If this is a mobile setup mount heavy groundstraps from radio and amplifier to the chassie of the car.

Hopefully this helps :)
