Just ordered one of these, could not find much info on them, what I did find all seemed good. I have found a few channel mods on the internet, one seems to remove a diode, and the other deals with a solder bridge under the diode. Anyone know anything about either of these?

Old #7 you say these take the NPC very well, from what I read this is not a conversion I can do with just a meter and soldering iron? There are no known techs in this area.

Thanks

Wildbill

I'm getting ready to send my new Magnum 257 off for the npc mod as well.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> I do know what you mean about no local techs but now that I've found a GREAT one in Oregon and I live in Texas,even if a really good tech were to open a shop around here I would still send my stuff to him.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Wildbill,

Let me know what you think of that radio, I saw that one and was interested. The price seemed right. A lot of features for not many green stamps.

These are very good radios and well worth the price can't beat them for $99.99

</p>

There is a dealer here that sells them for about $100 and will peak and tune it and do the CB mod.

I'd trade a Midland 79-290 for pne of those Titans, any takers?

HaulinGass is that dealer in your area? Bills2way has them for $99.99. Just curious.

That "baby mic." Has a great sound to it if you can use it. It just cramps my hand.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Well I hooked it up today, and what a receive beats the old uniden hands down. The jury is still out on the talking, most of the locals were not impressed, but then they are used to hearing the uniden and not a stock radio (but i'm working on that). the mic is neat and cute but just to small for my hands, if i'm not hitting the up and down buttons, i'm completly covering the mic up. Think I might try wiring a 636L up to try. Over all though still go with two thumbs up.
