rb= roger beep

Radio it is being hooked up to is the Warrior base, Since it did not work, i tried wiring it up in a magnum 257, pc 78,cobra 29,rci's,and several radios with the same results.... (several diffrent rb boards) Ok here are the instructions, any idea of what i did wrong, please pass it along....

I have a idea, that the instructions that came with it are wrong..

1.remove covers , bla bla bla

2.solder the RB red to 12 volts

3.black wire to circuit board grnd

4.solder white wire to the mic audio pin or the mic gain control

5.unsolder tx wire from the mic socket and solder it to rb terminal mared T, solder the rb green wire to the mic socedet pin were the tx wire was.....

6.unsolder the rx wire if any, from the mic socket and resolder it to the rb board terminal marded R

7. cover insulting rb board

8. covers check all conection first..

Problem i am having,

It doesn't work (tried 3 diffrent RB that are from same company)

Things ive tried, with all connections making good connection...

1 connected to mic gain

2. conected to audio pin.

3. even though thier was not a tx wire, i put one in line, so i could hook it up to the rb board as instructed..(yes i did this right by cutting the trace lead and adding the wire thier, to rb board, back to pin on mic socket....) Only because the other way didn't work since thier was not a lead for the tx.

4. tried wiring it up with out removing any wires..

Ran into the same problem with the 5 tone rb boards, except beep so low it almost couldn't be heard, tried several connection points on that as well.......

Any suggestions apreciated, and even i need help at times.... Thanks to everyone in advance......

So I have a cobra 138xlr and the meter dose not work... It dose not key up and signal dose not work.... It is not stuck it the meter moves freely. now wires are resoldered on both ends...So now that do I look at. Could it be a diode or a transistor?
