Don't perform this mod on your prized Cobra 29 LTD, use a beat up & scratched radio.

Your power output will suffer in the name of audio.
You need to figure out a solution for limiting & switching, this is just the bare bones.

Power output with 13.8 V correlates to your resting carrier before modification.
You will want your D.C. bias (carrier voltage) to be no more than half of the collector voltage.
(slightly less actually because of V drop through the modulator)
