Is there any simple and easy way to build a 3 element beam ? what do i need and whats steps? i want to talk long distance and i dont have alot of power im runnin a cobra 148 and a palomar 250tx from what im being told if i use a 3 element beam it would be better dx'in than my a99 thanks

Simple way?
No . . .
It stops being simple when you understand that the 'Gamma Match' device is a special piece hardware. Not saying building a beam from scratch can't be done. But for the cost of a commercial 3 element beam and what it wold take to accumulate the materials, time spent, and being able to get it going the first time around - I would just buy the beam.

Maybe consider a two element quad antenna. Can be built for less than $20 with materials from your local home supply store.

You really would not see any difference in performance in transmit or receive from two element quad to a three element yagi.

The quad is more of a mechanical challenge to build, but for cost vs performance it is a great low cost antenna that performs well.

A 1/4wl with velocity factor of 75 ohm cable tv coax RG6 or equivelant will make a nice matching transformer to get the impedance to 50 ohm or acceptable VSWR.

Google is your friend for this information on how to build.
