sirio go fiberglass

Another horse in the race field; competing with the IMAX.
Claims it works down to 25.5mhz plus 10m. I believe the IMAX has the 12m capability. It makes many of the same claims that Solarcon does for the IMAX. But what will they charge for it? You can get an IMAX for less than $100.

Engineering-wise; it is built in four six-foot sections - instead of three eight-foot sections like the IMAX. This will make it easier to ship and to use as a portable antenna. Interesting...

I'm surprised with the popularity of the piss poor antron 99 that this antenna by sirio hasn't drawn more interest.if it does as it claims (BIG IF) it would seem to be a natural successor to the A99 as a simple plug and play antenna.

they seem to have covered all the things the A99 lacks,(low radiation angle hmmm ??) built in rf choke, balanced feedpoint (hmmm) ,joining with hose clamps as opposed too screwthreads that wear down.

a few of the gain claims against a 5/8 wave seem unrealistic, but i never say never, and of late sirio have learned the folly of exaggerating gain claims will easily be found out in use and have made sensible gain claims for all their other antennas,so why should this one be any different, another thing to note is sirio is one of the few companies with proper test equipment and shielded anechoic chamber to test antennas.

certainly looks interesting if it meets sirio's claims.i can invisage plenty getting f@cked up mind by people not reading the instructions right and the coax radiator being strung up too tight within it and breaking as soon as high winds start to flex the antenna.water ingress over time may become seriously problematic too.

Very interesting indeed. It does look like sirio Has done its homework on the design and testing of this antenna, and Jazz is right about them having proper test equipment to test antennas.
They are a company that thinks about what they are building as compared to someone working out of there two car garage copying other antennas.
I might have to lay down some coins to see how this one plays on the air.
