Snake Radio Customs Has anyone used them or talked to those who have? From the videos/reviews on YouTube it seems as though he does good work. I have used Doug exclusively for many radios the last few years but now that he is so busy, I would not mind finding another good tech for some radio work. I'm wanting a dual Mosfet 959, all blue with switch/knob lights, receive transistor upgrade, Viagra kit, echo/TB with a modest tune and good alignment using the proper equipment. Not wanting to max it out for every last watt, just looking for a smooth talking radio with a few toys. Suggestions??

Most real techs that are worth their salt will not add dual finals and such to a radio. I know there is a guy here in Indiana that is known for adding dual finals and stuff to radios and from what i hear hes really good. if i find out his name ill post it here.

I bought a radio from him way back when he called himself Cobraman 148. It worked good.

If I was you I'd leave the final that are in it there and do a npc mod and a swing kit and all that can be done on your own there's plenty of info on here and lots of other places . Nothing agianst snake radio's or anything but if your in it to learn do it yourself and get the satisfaction and your completed radio

I prefer to take my stuff to a tech that uses a scope instead of his ear to tune a radio - lol!

Honestly your not going to get what you want and make it look good on a scope without some work its not just a adjustment lol.

Why would you want to do all that crap to a $149 radio? Buy a good export and get a great tech to do a tune on it. A Galaxy 959 is not worth sinking cash on for upgrades.

Thanks guys, Snake wont do the dual Mosfet as he has trouble setting the bias properly and he just does not like them anyway. He does love the 148 GTL's, 2000's etc, I believe he may be Cobraman 148 like SMILEX2692002 says.

Zman you are 100% correct, Doug at Custom CB radio in Indiana is who has been doing my radios for years, he has became very busy lately as the word of his great work is getting out. From my research I believe Tim at Snake radio customs is also a fine tech and from what I understand one of the best when it comes to the older equipment and mostly the old Cobras.

Hell I don't know, Why not? I have many exports. I just thought it would be neat to have a modded 959, like most I like the large meter,variable power, etc. I know it would not come close to my S9 or Stryker 490 but, it looks great and would be a nice addition to the family, I'm a sucker for the lights "pic I stole off ebay" Maybe just everything I listed without the dual Mosfet,

SnakeRadio's 'tech' doesn't use a scope when doing an alignment or checking modulation %.
Not cool . . . Just a 'FYI' . . .
