So why does Wilson call for a 7/8" hole?

Installing my umpthteenth Wilson 1000 roof mount and it always amazes me that the instructions say to drill a 7/8" hole. That is a huge uneeded hole when a 5/8" / 11/16" works perfectly.

Anyone know why Wilson wants that extra 1/4"? I know it isn't much but the smaller the hole just seems better.

Never mind....had a brain fart

It's been a couple years since installing one and forgot there is a wider spot at the base of the stud that sticks through the sheet metal.
