2mEs Europe: closed etc.... what is that?
Who Closed the band? mother nature? haarp? the evil government?


i have yet to see/hear: 2m,6m,4m skip last time i heard 2m skip was a few years back.

The band is closed because propagation on that band is not possible over any distance other than local contacts.

The aurora means propagation via super charged layers located near the poles.This is often accompanied by strong showings of the northern lights. When the band is open to aurora everyone points their antennas north regardless of where they are or want to talk too.

2M Es means 2m sporadic E propagation and your example shows that there is no sporadic E propagation happening in Europe at the time hence the band closed notice.

4040 claims that you can key up 15k and it stirs up the ionosphere.

4040 can claim anything he wants but that does not make it so. Keying 15K will stir up something, or someone especially neighbors, but not the ionosphere. op:
