Im looking for information on this rig what all the hype was or is I was told they were better boards and just built better. I was also wondering if this will cover 10-12 meters or just 10??

Any info and history on this radio appreciated. One thing I did notice is the microphone cord is a good beldin dtyle flexible cord and that is on the stock microphone so that was already a good sign

I had one back in the day. The one I had was 10-11 only. Radio worked ok, I really could not tell if there was any differance between the two. funny thing when I got the radio the manuel that came with it had a ranger warrenty card in it. I called ranger about it and the guy I spoke with, just told me that there was no warrenty with that radio and he had no idea how the card got there....

Ive got one here in Excellent shape and will plug it in later I curious as to if theres any difference between this sommerkamp and my mirage 2950ex my rci 2950dx or my 2970 Im guessing this is basically like my older 2950 radios Ive had??

I remember people saying these Sommerkamps were better for
whatever reason and as I had said before I remember them saying the boards were thicker or more stable thats why I ask here maybe someone can tell me about this uncommon close to rare radio.

This thing is really nice it has a 4 position setting for display brightness and the knobs feel nice there easy to turn just an all around different feel. Also the receive is super I ran it lastnight and today and its got an A+A+A+A+ rating from me forsure.

The microphone cord is the good quality cord beldin style its A THINNER STYLE and super flexible and retracts back to its original position which is tight coils no stretched out look but that new coiled cord look and I can tell you I strectched that cord pretty far to what my arms length would let me and it bounced right back.

This thing is really in good shape not all beat up not even where the mount holes are which is surprising all in all this radio is perfect in operation and looks its a rare radio but well taken care of not abused in anyway. It has the open clarifier and it tracks spot on through transmit and receive with no noticable drift what so ever.

I have all 3 models of this from Mirage Rci and Sommercamp and otherthan the 12 meters in my RCI 2950DX this sommerkamp version is the better of the fleet. I can say that if this one gets sold Im going to keep the mic and thats on it and just replace it with another RCI mic or an Astatic.

I wouldnt hesitate on buying another one of these if I were in the market for another 2950 providing I could find one there pretty scarce. When I got this one it was from the original owner I was told he had some things forsale and I went to purchase the whole lot of stuff that he had spread out on his couch waiting for my arrival and I just looked down then looked at the elderly man and said wrap it up Ill take it all.

We picked everything up and started transfering it to his kitchen and thats when I noticed the writing on the front seemed to long to say RCI as he told me it was. I looked closer and thought what the heck?? I seen Sommerkamp I said noway!! I then remembered there was a fancy label in big writing across the top cover on the SommerKamp 2950 and I tilted thje radio and sure enough it said SOMMERKAMP TS-2000DX I lucked out.
