Friday morning we had a front push through with recorded 75mph winds.. I was out of town working but my wife called at 5am freaking out. Said it was intense. No damage to my home... antennas rode it out as well no problem. Many trees and poles broke. It's been a mess all weekend cleaning up.
I wish we had a little bit of that wet weather down here in south Texas , it is looking rough down here. I haven't had a need to use my riding mower this year.
when i was watching this, i started to think, i wonder what the native americans and the wagon wheel dudes did and thought when this kind of storm rolled thru? where you gonna go? could you imagine riding this out in a teepee or a covered wagon out in the open? also all your horses / livestock getting a beat down from all that. damn!
I remember when I was very young and my dad was stationed at Elsworth AFB, seeing hail that was very large in size. I think like baseball size, and not being able to get out the front door due to snow pileup against the front door.
I work a quarter mile from that truck stop, and that whole town got destroyed. There were six storm chasers setup with big dishes across the street... that is a sure sign to go home early!
