North coast of the USA.... Da UP!
I have a couple of Midland 23 (13-893) channel AM/SSB rigs and the are sort of locked on the 23 channels as they are crystal synthesized....
I know with a VFO they do go places, but.... I would like to try some other ideas if only for academics....

Since they use several crystals to obtain their channels, a four by six plus IF scheme, Remixing different crystals should get them elsewhere. And this does the trick! I used several 10.xxx xtals and they get me below channel one but I want to above channel 23. I've tried some other xtals that are third overtone type but the go somewhere I have not found yet!? :scared:

I could build some sort of signal injector or maybe order the xtals I need but what if I take a 10.xxx and grind it down so it vibrates higher? This has been done but is slow going....

Since this is going to be experimental this thread will have to be updated as I progress, If anyone has ideas or just wants to critique the whole thing, just send a reply....
