Just about done all is left is to send the base of the key out for gold plating.

The wood base is pine nut with #223 stain and I used rattle can of high gloss stain :)
As you can see a router was used on the edges for a detailed look...

Any recommendations on how to get the hardware cleaned up?

If by "conductors" you mean the key contacts themselves, I'd recommend against any action that removes metal in ANY amount. If they're already pitted, then I'd have them heavily silver plated.

no that was a typo. i am talking about the terminals where the wire attaches...there looking pretty oxidized so is a few other parts... eh i may just leave it how it is looks ok unless u really gawk at it then you can see the imperfections on the key.
