Can coax be spliced together. I need to add on to my coax cable. I'm a few feet short.

yes , but you could also just get a barrel connector and just add a jumper that way.

You can not strip and solder coax like you can regular wire; you will induce an impedance bump in your feedline. Do what switch said and use connectors and a barrel.
