For all of the "supply chain" excuses you've been hearing the last year or so, here's one that surprised me.
A little.
This fifteen-pin right-angle socket is used on a plug-in circuit board found in the circuit-board Tram D201 models. It plugs into a row of header pins sticking out of the main receiver circuit board. It becomes a chronic noise and intermittent problem. Had to track down the proper manufactuer and part numbers so we can replace it whan needed. I got the idea that it would sell on fleabay, and bit by bit a dozen of them went out the door that way. By mid-April I was down the last handful of them. I ordered more.
Just one problem. They were not in stock like the previous times I bought them. Back ordered.
Dern!
I pulled the fleabay listing, so I would have a few on hand for repair jobs.
First B/O estimate was July. Sounded more or less routine. July came and went, new estimate is September. Came and went, now it would be November. By November the new prediction was February.
Good thing I kept a few on hand.
So here it is February and they finally arrived today. Not sure 10 months is a record for a back-ordered parts delivery, but it has to be close.
Your supply chain may vary.
And yeah, they're back up for sale at the cyberflea.
